Pimple

Acne vulgaris, also known as acne vulgaris, is one of the most common dermatological problems in young people during puberty. It is characterized by the occurrence of various types of skin lesions, such as open and closed comedones, papules, pimples and cysts, most often located on the face, neck, back and chest. Acne vulgaris can negatively affect the well-being and self-esteem of young people, which is why it often requires specialist treatment.

Description of the problem

The causes of teenage acne are varied and usually involve a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors. The primary cause of acne is excessive sebum production by the sebaceous glands of the skin, which leads to clogged pores and the formation of blackheads. Additionally, the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, which is naturally present on the skin, can contribute to inflammation and pimples.

Teenage acne often begins during puberty, when hormonal changes occur in the body. Hormones such as testosterone can stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum, which in turn promotes the development of acne. Additionally, environmental factors such as air pollution, stress, and poor eating habits can also affect the severity of acne in teenagers.

Treatment

Treatment for acne vulgaris usually involves using a variety of methods, depending on the severity of symptoms and the individual needs of the patient. The most commonly used methods include topical preparations, such as gels, creams, and ointments containing active ingredients such as salicylic acid, peroxysalicylic benzoate, or retinoids, which help to cleanse pores, reduce sebum production, and reduce inflammation.

In severe or treatment-resistant cases of acne vulgaris, pharmacological therapy, such as oral antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, or hormonal drugs (for women), may be necessary. In addition, regular visits to a dermatologist and proper skin care, such as gentle cleansing, avoiding harsh cosmetics, and using moisturizers and sunscreens, can be key to effectively controlling acne vulgaris. With proper treatment and care, most cases of acne vulgaris can be effectively controlled and the skin’s appearance improved.
