Many factors affect the proper structure and condition of the scalp and hair. These include hormonal disorders, diet, medications, autoimmune diseases and chronic emotional disorders, excessive stress, genetic factors, environmental pollution, poor hygiene and many others.
After identifying the causes of the problem, the trichologist selects an individual treatment plan in cooperation with specialists from the clinic, including a dermatologist, endocrinologist, dietitian, and psychotherapist.
When should you go for a trichological consultation?
If you notice:
- excessive hair loss,
- thinning and loss of volume,
- itchy scalp,
- dandruff,
- pain, burning, dryness,
- increased oiliness of the scalp.

What does a trichological consultation look like?
- The first stage is a thorough interview about lifestyle.
- Then a trichoscope examination is performed. This is a camera with a large zoom of up to x500, thanks to which we can identify the problem.
- The last stage of the consultation is the preparation of an individual therapy plan, which may include laboratory analysis, selection of professional home and office care.
How to prepare for your first visit to a trichologist?
- do not wash your hair 24 hours before your appointment,
- take blood tests (full blood count with a smear, ESR, CRP, TSH, FT3, FT4, anti-TPO, anti-TG, ferritin, folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin D3 (25 OOH), homocysteine),
- take a list of medications and dietary supplements you are currently taking and a list of cosmetics you are using,
- do not use styling agents such as hairspray, gum, dry shampoo (so as not to distort the image during trichoscopy),
- recall your treatment/treatment history,
- prepare your questions.
