Hair loss, alopecia (androgenic)
Hair loss, also known as alopecia, is a problem that affects both men and women and can have different causes and manifest in different ways. One of the most common forms of hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, which is caused by the sensitivity of hair follicles to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a derivative of testosterone. This is a type of baldness that occurs in both sexes, although it is more common in men.

Description of the problem
Androgenetic alopecia is a gradual thinning of hair on the scalp, initially usually on the frontal area and temples in men, and in women along the entire hairline. In men, this process can lead to complete hair loss in a given area, creating characteristic “bald spots”. Although androgenetic alopecia is usually associated with genetics and heredity, it is also accompanied by other factors, such as hormonal changes, stress, unhealthy lifestyle, or improper diet.
Treatment
Treatment of androgenetic alopecia includes various methods, both pharmacological and non-medical. One of the most popular drugs used to treat this form of baldness are preparations containing minoxidil, a substance that stimulates hair growth by widening blood vessels and increasing blood flow to hair follicles. Another drug often used to treat androgenetic alopecia is finasteride, which inhibits the conversion of testosterone to DHT, thus reducing the effect of this hormone on hair follicles.
In addition to pharmacological treatment, there are also other methods to alleviate the symptoms of androgenetic alopecia and support hair growth. Such methods include, for example, mesotherapy, i.e. the administration of nutrients and stimulants to the scalp using microneedles, and laser treatments, which are intended to stimulate hair follicles to grow. In addition, a proper diet rich in nutrients, regular physical activity and stress reduction can also help maintain healthy hair and delay the process of balding.
Although androgenetic alopecia is a problem that is difficult to completely cure, proper treatment and care for hair health can help to stop the process of hair loss and improve the appearance and condition of the hair. In the case of advanced cases of androgenetic alopecia, it is worth consulting a dermatologist, who can recommend appropriate treatment and adapt it to the individual needs of the patient.
