The result of the decrease in collagen and elastin levels is thinning of the skin. It becomes more delicate, more flaccid, which leads to a phenomenon that we commonly refer to as drooping eyelids. “Excess” skin is created, which is particularly visible in the eye area, and especially in the upper eyelid area. Drooping eyelids cause the eyes to begin to lose their attractive appearance, which in turn translates into the appearance of the entire face – it begins to look tired, sad and older.

Drooping eyelids can, in addition to aesthetic problems, affect the quality of vision, narrowing its field. To reduce these negative effects of the passage of time, it is worth using the blepharoplasty procedure. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting. The incisions are made in physiological grooves so that the resulting post-operative scars are not visible. Thin skin sutures are removed a week after the surgery. Return to normal functioning occurs after about 1-2 weeks. The final effect of the treatment is visible 6-8 weeks after the procedure.
